REGISTER HERE!

Night of a New Day 2018 is full to capacity, so we are no longer accepting registrations. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

You are warmly invited for an evening of community, music, and inspiration at the Kaleo Center for Faith, Justice & Social Transformation’s annual celebration–Night of a New Day!

This year’s theme, Songs in the Key of Now, speaks to the urgency of our interconnected struggles towards justice, and the ways that music and rhythm and possibility move through us as we build and imagine our way into deeper community.

We are thrilled to welcome Bishop Yvette A. Flunder, founder of the famed City of Refuge United Church of Christ as our keynote speaker. As a same-gender-loving Black woman who believes in the transformational spirit of inclusivity, Bishop Flunder’s work melds music, affirming theology, and community organizing to nourish the spark of shared liberation in all of us.

The evening includes a special musical experience led by local artists whose work embodies the places where spiritual practice meets community, as well as a dinner of delicious indigenous foods prepared by The Sioux Chef, Sean Sherman.

Children are welcome, and we hope that you will bring your family and friends!

About Kaleo Center

Calling Forth

Kaleo Center for Faith, Justice & Social Transformation offers a home for movement-building where our spiritual practices meet our work for justice and where our work for justice meets our diverse faith traditions. We nourish relationships that honor and include our full spiritual selves. We convene spaces that invest in community across tradition and belief, and we organize with that community to take public action towards collective liberation.

Currently, Kaleo Center lives out our vision in three ways:

1)  Organizing our communities to act in meaningful solidarity with front-line local and national organizing for justice and liberation.

2) Working with people from diverse faith traditions, religious practices, and spiritual communities to train faith leaders in practices of community organizing and social transformation.

3) Convening a national field of social transformation within seminary education that fosters innovation and creativity for a new generation of spiritually-grounded movement makers.

Thank you so much for joining us at Night of a New Day, and thank you so much for continuing to make our work possible with your love and support.

Welcome to Kaleo Center
